All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami kickstarted the party’s 2026 Assembly election campaign on Saturday with the launch of a new logo and slogan, vowing to “remove the evil government” led by DMK in Tamil Nadu.
Speaking at the party headquarters ‘MGR Maligai’ in Chennai, Palaniswami unveiled the official campaign logo for his state-wide tour titled ‘Makkalai Kaappom, Thamizhagathai Meetpom’ (Let’s Protect the People, Let’s Redeem Tamil Nadu). The first phase of the campaign will begin from Coimbatore on July 7, covering eight districts.
The campaign logo features:
- The iconic two leaves symbol of AIADMK
- The party flag,
- A raised fist representing revolution
- And slogans reaffirming the party’s ideological roots and mission.
Reaffirming the party’s legacy, Palaniswami said, “Following the footsteps of Perarignar Anna, MGR, and Amma, AIADMK continues to serve the people with unwavering commitment.”
Taking a swipe at Chief Minister MK Stalin, he said, “The CM mocks me for meeting people only now. But I’ve always been among the people—he’s actually describing himself.”
Palaniswami emphasized that the campaign is not just a political yatra but a mission to unseat the DMK government, which he described as “evil.” Calling for unity among like-minded parties, he urged them to rally together to defeat the ruling regime.
He also cited Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s reported remarks affirming AIADMK’s leadership of the NDA alliance in Tamil Nadu and backing Palaniswami as the Chief Ministerial candidate for 2026.
AIADMK spokesperson Kovai Sathyan welcomed Amit Shah’s support, asserting that the BJP-AIADMK alliance remains intact and strong ahead of the elections.
The 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election is expected to witness a high-stakes battle, with AIADMK setting the stage for an aggressive comeback.
